Real learning and disruptive innovation only emerge when we remove the fences around students, experts, managers, and executives. The Unchained Journey is a paradigm shifting awakening into what is needed to break free from outdated frameworks.

It is also an experimental journey. We will not only experiment with the content, but also with strategies and technologies to awaken participants in a new mindset.

For the Unchained Journey (The Challenge - Part I), we selected 5 Red Monkey Stories & 16 Posters to create a disruptive awakening experience. If successful, we complete the Unchained Journey with 2 other parts: The ‘Protagonists’ and ‘The Escape’.

The Engagement

After every Story, participants engage in discussions around the Poster Talks: agreeing, disagreeing, challenging, questioning, or debating. These Engagements are moderated and energized by a Pack Guide.

The Red Monkey Challenge

After the 5 Stories, participants are challenged to create & pitch disruptive Red Monkey Ideas.

What is the format of the Journey?

We are offering the Unchained Journey in 3 formats.

  • ‘Unchained in One’: A single full‑day awakening journey.

  • ‘Unchained in Three’: Three live sessions (150 mins) over several days or weeks.

  • ‘Unchained in Nine’: 3 Online Sessions with Poster Talks, 3 Engagement Periods organized by Pack Guides and 3 Spin-off Sessions.

12 Promotional ‘Unchained Journeys’

In 2026, we will organize 12 promotional Unchained Journeys. These experimental Journeys are free to attend, with the following conditions …

  • Each Journey is experimental, creating unique awakening experiences with a Red Monkey Crew consisting of Pack Guides, Pack Builders, Pack Reporters, Poster Teachers, Journey Managers, Journey Creators, and Technologists.

  • Only Packs of Participants can register. Packs allow us to experiment with engagement dynamics. Individuals can join if we can assign them to a pack.

  • To test and promote engagement with Pack Guides, we start with a journey when we have a minimum of 4 Packs in a journey.

  • For “Unchained in One” and “Unchained in Three” Journeys, drinks and more are at expense of participants or sponsored by a partner (company, organization, network) who invests in location and logistics.

  • We aim for: 3 x ‘Unchained in One’, 3 x ‘Unchained in Three’, 6 x ‘Unchained in Nine’.

  • ‘Unchained in One’ has priority

    • We start organizing One-Day sessions when min 4 Packs and minimum 24 participants.

    • Fee = 275€ / Participant with minimum of 75€ (place, food & drinks) on request or if Red Monkey Explorer Member.

  • Packs must be a creative mix of diversity (sectors, professions, age, ‘you name it’).

  • During these Kickstarter Journeys, we will promote Red Monkey Explorer Memberships to kickstart the Red Monkey Library and organize regular Red Monkey Talks & Meetups.

  • The Kickstarter version is a light version of what the Unchained Journey will become. The extended version will be developed based on insights gained from these first 12 experiments.
